For me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel cared for and valued. It’s about more than just watching them — it’s building trust, encouraging their growth, and helping them reach milestones while still having fun. I believe consistency, patience, and genuine connection are key to helping children thrive.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve always felt a natural connection with children who have special needs. Even when I’m out in public, they often approach me to say hi or share a compliment, which makes me feel like they sense my warmth and patience. I also have a close best friend whose cousin is autistic, and I spend time with him regularly. I truly enjoy our conversations and love seeing the world through his perspective — he’s one of the most creative people I know. These experiences have given me an appreciation for the importance of patience, understanding, and celebrating each child’s unique strengths.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s hard to pick just one favorite moment, because what I enjoy most is seeing kids light up when they learn something new or feel proud of themselves. Whether it’s helping a toddler with potty training, calming a baby to sleep, or seeing a child laugh during playtime, those little everyday wins are what make childcare so rewarding for me.
