Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a private nanny for a lovely couple in New York, they had moved to Long Island and asked if I can come with them but at the time I was still living with my parents and had to respect their decision, I worked as a summer camp counselor at the Riseboro youth partnership program where I was responsible for 32 camp attendees. In my earlier years my mom owned a daycare center in Brooklyn called Rosemary’s daycare and I volunteered there over the summers when I wasn’t in school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoors I love painting, online “just dance” is also fun having to follow along with the dance moves (bonus: the child gets tired by the time the parent comes home from work decides to take themselves to sleep lol) I also enjoy creating things out of arts and crafts, overall I believe in working with your hands a lot, todays children are very into their tablets as I once was and although playing with their tablet has proven to be very educational it can get boring to the child I think keeping them physically active gives them that balance that we all need as well as helping to improve their motor skills and opens them up to different things they can do. When the sun is out, going to the park or a garden is always a great thing to do being around plants and trees in general can feel very rewarding for both children and adults.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Keeping the child save is the most important thing after would be what the child learns and is exposed to, finally how much fun they have with you I think is also very important.
My experience with special needs children...
I haven’t had much experience, but I am very patient with anyone with special needs, I have a little step brother who has ADHD and im constantly looking for ways to improve communication with him and ways to make him feel save but overall hanging with him I have learned to be more patient.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Its always after I teach something and the child remembers what I taught them but more so when they implement what I taught them or even tell their parents almost as if to teach them, its the most rewarding thing ever.
