A little bit about me

Hi, family! My name is Deysha but I go by Dey (like day of the week haha) I have nine years of experience working with children from infant to school age children (2 months- 14 years of age.)

I have been a behavioral therapist for almost 3 years and I absolutely love what I do but I also love working and helping families. I was born and raised in Houston Texas, and from an early age I have always wanted to care for others and as I got older, I learned that I have a passion for taking care of children and helping families. Being that I work with children on the spectrum as a behavioral therapist, I have all the right tools to care and love for every single individual no matter their background, gender, beliefs etc. I just want to help you and your family the best that I can and help alleviate any stress or worries. I really do hope that we can work together. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your day! You and your family stay blessed and safe!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a preschool private school teacher, I have worked in the daycare setting, and I have been a behavioral therapist working with children on the spectrum for almost 3 years. I have a total of nine years of experience working with children from infancy, all the way up to the age of 14 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love sensory play. I love creating and being creative with new ways to get kids engaged with fine motor and get those creative skills built. I absolutely love art and anything that can help and make it fun at the same time by learning new things!

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters to me the most and what I find so important is about building that relationship with the children and the family. My job is to care for not only the household but for any individual. It’s important to help alleviate any stress or worries that I possibly can and do my best to care and love each and every child that I work with! Building that rapport and morale with the family is super important.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a volunteer at my local church working with the special needs children from the age of 16 until I was 21. At the age of 21 is when I discovered ABA therapy, which is applied behavioral analysis, and that is the field that specializes with children on the spectrum or with any learning disability. So I’ve been doing that for the past three years, so I have lots of experience and knowledge on Individuals with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments is when I was a nanny for a family. I became very close with the family and the extended family as well. It was the little girls birthday. She was turning four years old and I was coming from class that day and her mom called me about three times, I was finally able to pick up the phone and let her know that I was on my way. I figured that maybe I got my times mixed up or maybe it was an emergency due to her missed calls. She reassured me it was neither and that I had plenty of time until I had to be there. Her daughter did not want to put on her birthday outfit or until I arrived because she did not want me to miss seeing her and her birthday outfit. And something like that may seem small but that made me smile so hard through the phone and I got there promptly and I was able to see the look on her face when she saw me walk through that door, and I was able to see her and her birthday outfit! One of my favorite moments out of many
