Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes my time as a 2-year-old teacher and my work in daycare supporting infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. I’ve also did student teaching and internships in elementary school classrooms, where I planned lessons, supported small-group instruction, and built strong relationships with students. In addition to my formal roles, I spent many years babysitting for families during my teen years and throughout college. Those early experiences helped me develop confidence, patience, and a genuine love for childcare, and they laid the foundation for the professional work I do today.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My specialty is hands-on, play-based activities that spark curiosity and creativity. I love incorporating dramatic play, sensory play, and exploratory play into my time with younger children. Some of my favorite activities I’ve done with littles include fizzy painting, making elephant toothpaste, creating sensory bins, puffy paint art, and going on “color walks” where we search for different colors in our environment.
With grade school children, I enjoy simple but exciting science experiments like making indoor snow, soft ice, lava lamps, and balloon cars. I also love activities that challenge their thinking and keep them active, such as designing mazes, marble races, balloon tennis, and playing kids’ board games or card games. Baking and decorating desserts is another favorite—it’s a fun way to build skills while making sweet memories.

The important part about being a nanny is recognizing that every moment is a meaningful learning opportunity, while also building real and trusting connections with children. Whether we’re playing, problem-solving, or simply talking through their day, kids are constantly developing new skills—and a nanny helps guide that growth with patience, structure, and encouragement.
For me, it’s about showing up consistently with warmth and understanding so children feel safe, supported, and proud of themselves. It’s celebrating their milestones, helping them through challenges, and creating experiences that spark curiosity and confidence. Being a nanny means becoming a positive, steady presence in a child’s life, and that’s a responsibility I value deeply.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was our special “Cooking Week,” where each day we made a different kid-friendly treat together. We created apple pie in a cup, dirt in a cup, decorated sugar cookies, and even mini cracker pizzas with fun toppings. The kids were usually picky eaters, but they were so excited to cook that they were willing to try everything we made— and they ended up loving it! Watching them step out of their comfort zones, take pride in their creations, and discover new foods made me so proud. Their joy and curiosity reminded me how meaningful hands-on experiences can be—and how much I love bringing those moments to the children I care for.
