A little bit about me

Hello parents and kiddos. I am a mother of 2 adult daughters and the grandmother of 11 amazing grandchildren. Their ages are from 18 months to 15 years old.

I have provided care for them from infant and beyond. My oldest daughter is an RN so after their first born, then number 2 and 3....every other weekend help for years when weekend or evening care can be difficult to find. In addition years ago I worked in the nurse's office at a middle school. I also was backup as a home care assistant for an adult foster care.

My daughters and 11 grandchildren can certainly give you good references about grandma. I am now retired at the age of 59 and have extra free time.

I am looking to help out on an as need bases. A back up, a night out, to give parents a break. Nothing full time but a great option for that dependable care giver.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I did share in the about me. I am a grandmother of 11 grandchildren from 18 months to 15 years old. For years I babysat on an everyother weekend bases for each new addition to my oldest daughter's children that is an RN and worked everyother weekend. Where the difficulty to find caring, loving, dependable care on weekends and evenings. So a pleasure and much experience as a mother and grandmother. Years ago I also had my own daycare and worked 6 years in the nurse's office at a middle school. I continue to help as need with family and help with the children when needed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going for walks, playing outside, finding something fun to explore that would be age appropriate and fun. Inside depending on age, games, play in general involvement, puzzles, craft projects, fun age appropriate helping fun snacks together. Always nice to put in a movie for quiet down time or rocking and cuddle time.

My experience with special needs children...

I was an RN student many years ago but my life career took me in another direction.

I worked in a middle school in the nurse's office providing a variety of care from medication management, general first aid, broken bones, seizures, everyday was different. Minor booboos to managing situations, parent calls, situation calls for immediate attention or emergency services .

I also have a granddaughter that has Type 1 Diabetes. She was diagnosed at the age of 2 and is now 6 years old. So I am familiar with caring for her and monitoring of her illness.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have so many fun moments as a grandmother, enjoying watching the grow and explore. Engagements, play, smiles and laughter, we learn as we get to know each other. My favorite is rocking little ones, that comfort. To playing games, and laughter. From breaking a record reading 17 books in a row. Lol
