A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Nicki! I am a 47 -year- old mother of two beautiful teenage girls. I began babysitting at age twelve, having a youthful spirit, it felt less like work and more like play to me. We enjoyed bike rides, trips to the pool and outdoor activities. I went on to work as a medical assistant and found helping others very fulfilling. In 1999 my husband and I started a landscaping company, I operated our commercial mowers, drove our plow trucks and trailers. I definitely turned heads (not why you think lol) but because there are few women who lead in that field. Operating our business was wonderful however it took its toll on me physically. I chose to hang my hat and go back to what I love-caring for others! I miss changing diapers, playtime activities, packing lunches, going for walks, etc. I believe that there is a family who needs someone like me, who will keep your children safe and care for them as if they were my own! I was a medical assistant for an ear, nose and throat specialist for 14 years. My boss performed thousands of surgeries at A.I. duPont hospital for children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I thoroughly enjoy activities that help children reach their milestones. I like singing, reading, going for walks, exploring and helping them navigate the world around them.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked for a family whose child was autistic. I was their nanny for three years. Along with her parents, we used music therapy as a way to help her communicate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was having a football catch with their son. He asked if I thought I could throw the football over the house. I laughed and said I would give it my best effort. So he walked around to the other side of the house (they had a large property so it as safe and nowhere near the road. Long story short I threw the football and it cleared the house. The next day my boss told me that he was so impressed that he made it the topic of conversation that night at dinner.
