I have been a teacher assistant for 5 years in headstart, prek, and kindergarten. I have also been a substitute for 1 year from prek-5th grade. I was also a long term substitute for prek as a lead teacher for 1 year.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love painting and doing any arts and crafts! I enjoy playing outside, taking walks and going to the park!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I've been in education for years now and have had class sizes range from 18-23 children. I love doing small groups with my classes because it gives them that one on one support that a lot of children need in order to learn and grow. Despite loving education, I'd love to give one on one support, love and care to a smaller set of children. The most important part of being a nanny for me would be providing individualized care for the child/ren that I'd be caring for.
My experience with special needs children...
Over the years I have had several children in my classes who were developmentally delayed, autistic, ADHD, ADD, and/or behavioral issues.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I used to nanny before I went back to school to get my degree. I nanny for a family with 3 children. The children were 11, 4, and 3. The 11 year old was homeschooled and I would assist her with her work during the school day. I really enjoyed going through lessons with her while the little ones were down for a nap.
