My experience with special needs children...
During my senior year of highschool, I was enrolled in our PALs program where we would mentor and spend time with elementary students assigned to us for the school year 2 days a week. During the school year, we also organised and hosted parties for the life skills and special needs students and their families in our classroom, decorating, preparing food and activities, and then hosting and keeping them company.
