A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Eleanor (you and your family can call me Ellie, though), and I look forward to collaborating with you to create a safe, nurturing home for your kids.

I’ve cared for children ages 0-13 over the last 12 years, including children with special needs. I also have experience as a house keeper, both privately and for a larger organization.

I am a classically trained opera singer and a masters student in Speech Pathology at NYU, meaning that my time with your children will be musical, theatrical, engaging, educational, and FUN.

When I’m not nannying or in class, I run a private voice studio out of my home. I love exploring our awesome city, attending performances, visiting my family, or snuggling with my little corgi babe, Neville, and binge watching documentaries.

I genuinely care for all children in my charge as if they were my own, meaning that their growth and safety will always be my top priority. I’d love to talk to you about how I can care for your children!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a voice teacher of 5 years and a speech language pathology student, I have worked with children of all ages in many different contexts. This does not include the many families I worked with as a babysitter from age 12 until now.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

-Going to Parks
-Going to Museums (Nannying is awesome because it’s shown me so many amazing museums that I wouldn’t have gone to if the child wasn’t interested !)
-Bringing the child to concerts/operas/ballets. (Exposure to the arts from a young age is so important!)
-Pretend Play (whether we’re making a story from scratch or pretending to be our favorite characters from Star Wars, I am FULLY engaged and theatrical when playing pretend with children)
-Going to the dog park with my dog or yours!
-Reading and visiting Libraries (I do ALL of the voices!)

The most important part about being a nanny...

The thing that matters most to me about nannying is making sure the children in my care know how loved and protected they are, as well as validating their thoughts, feelings and dreams. Doing these things while teaching the children about being kind, tolerant human beings are the pillars of my childcare philosophy.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for two siblings with autism, a child with limb difference, and currently babysit a young boy with severe anxiety, ADHD, and sensory processing delays.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are any time young children I care for stand up for tolerance, equity, and kindness. It makes my heart so happy and I swell with pride!
