My favorite moment was when I was baking with a 5 year old girl and we were being silly and we ourselves. The little girl had spilled milk and my immediate reaction was to also “drop” milk on accident and say “oh silly me I did it too” This reaction gets children comfortable and they learn it’s okay because it’s a mistake and no one will get mad. The child needs safety and reassurance as well as trust just like a parent needs trust with a nanny.
