My experience with special needs children...
Since 2015, I have been babysitting and nannying for a family with 2 children, the younger of whom is on the autism spectrum. During the summers, I nannied for this family 8-4, M-F. Over the years, I developed a great relationship with the children and we still talk on the phone weekly. Additionally, I also worked at an elementary school where I had the opportunity to work in a classroom and after-school care setting with many children of different learning abilities, such as down syndrome, speech delays, physical disabilities, between the ages of 3 and 12. It was these two experiences that led me to pursue a Special Education degree and helped me realize how much I love helping all children see their full potential.
