Hi! My name is Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Lizzie. I am 25 years old and currently in school, working toward my degree to become a BCBA, with the goal of working in a school setting. I currently work in a school as well, and I’m looking for a summer position while school is out.

I started nannying at 19 for a lovely family in Watch Hill, RI. The family was moving from London to Washington, DC, and had asked me to join them as their live-in nanny. I traveled to different countries with them and helped with online learning. I continued nannying until I was 23, when I transitioned to working in a kindergarten classroom.

Before I was a nanny, I was a lifeguard and swim instructor, and now I am a swim coach, so I have strong experience around water and hold all necessary first-aid and safety certifications. I swam in high school as well, so I’ve always loved being in the water and staying active outdoors.

The most important thing about being a nanny is building a trusting, supportive relationship with both the child and their family. This means providing a safe, nurturing environment where the child feels seen, heard, and cared for—while also respecting the parents’ routines, values, and expectations. A great nanny is dependable, patient, and adaptable, and truly invests in the child’s well-being and development.

I’m a current kindergarten teacher looking for a summer job working with children. In my classroom, I support three SPED students, including one with autism, and adapt activities to meet individual needs. Before teaching, I nannied for over five years with kids ages 6 months to 13 years. I enjoy doing arts and crafts, storytime, nature walks, baking, and outdoor play with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was teaching a 4-year-old how to ride a bike without training wheels. We practiced every afternoon, and when she finally took off on her own, her face lit up with pride. Watching her confidence grow and knowing I helped her reach that milestone was incredibly rewarding.
