Hi! My name is Elizabeth, I go by Liz. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University, with a bachelors and masters in Social work. I have always had a passion for working with children and their families, as every family is so different and unique! I started my child care journey at a young age, as a church camp counselor. I then went on to work for Head Start as an assistant teacher for 3 years. Post graduation, I continued to work in a daycare setting, and then finally landed at Franklin County Children’s Services as a caseworker. While my current job is rewarding, I miss having more interactions with the children. My friends and family would describe me as outgoing, energetic, creative and silly. The most important part about being a nanny...

Understanding and remembering the amount of trust a family has in you to care for someone so special to them. Also, remembering that every family is unique in their own way; what one family may do/want, another may not and that’s okay! :)

My experience with special needs children...

As a head start teacher/ daycare teacher, there were several children with special and/or behavioral needs. I was responsible for implementing individual learning plans that addressed their needs, as well as medication management.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I taught two children I cared for the “I love you” song and dance, and they preformed it for their mom on Mother’s Day. The mom recorded it and sent it to me with her crying and the kids asked that they perform it for me too, as they considered myself to be a “mommy” to them. It was such a sweet sentiment.
