When I would always visit my Aunty, I have a nephew and a little cousin that I take care of every time I go over to their house (which is quite frequent). The ages I’ve mostly had experience with is 6-10 but I’m more than welcome to take care of anyone below or above the ages.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being creative with kids. I will use anything by to be creative with kids without being destructive. I love to entertain little kids with anything they like. We could do puzzles, drawing, coloring, and make little crafts (I would provide the necessary materials myself along with cleaning up the mess afterwards).
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would say the most important parts about being a nanny is making sure safety is always #1 always make sure to keep an eye on the children(never walk away from them untended), that you follow the routine that has been set with the children so it stays consistent, to engage not just watch but also communicate and talk to them, respecting the family’s parenting style, and one of the most important; patience and flexibility.
My experience with special needs children...
My youngest cousin who is 10 is special needs and what I do best for him when I take care of him is to let him play on his iPad and when we go outside we like to play tag or hide and seek
The most important part about being a nanny...
Ever since school has started, I only frequently go to my auntie’s house during summer time and since school has started it has been a while since I have had experience with kids. Although I’d say one memory I love is when me and my little cousin and nephew were outside and we were playing tag outside with my cousin’s dog.
