A little bit about me

I have been an art teacher for 3 years and before that have worked with children on and off my whole life! I love being around kids of any ages. If possible, I would love to include art activities (crafts, museum visits) on the list of fun things we can do together!

As a teacher, I take child care and safety very seriously. I make sure my kiddos are having fun, are well fed, and are SAFE at all times! Even though I'm not in the classroom anymore, I keep those ideals with me. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school aged children and have truly enjoyed all ages in different ways.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I grew up helping with childcare in my church. Here, I was around children ages 0-4 helping out every Sunday.
I babysat often in high school, and had one particular family of 4 children that I was with all 4 years of high school and into college. It was sweet to see them grow!
While in college I was a substitute teacher for middle and high school aged children before becoming a full-time art teacher.
For the past 3 years I've been teaching art - my first year was with middle and high schoolers, and the last 2 years have been with elementary aged children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

All things art! I love going to art museums in my own time, and bringing the kiddos along would only make it better (: We can do art crafts and activities together if we want a day inside, but I also love all the parks around the city and believe its important to let kids play outside - weather permitting!
What's most important to me is that the child is able to voice their interests and bring me in to play with them on their level - that can mean so many different things!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny is acknowledging the children I serve and doing my best to listen to and support their interests in a safe way. I take child care and safety very seriously, and while we are doing all the fun crazy things they have in mind, we will be SAFE and follow (small) rules to stay together and to stay safe.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children mostly involves children with learning differences in the classroom. I have been with a few children who have extra special special needs, but do not have extensive experience with those children.
