One of the most amusing moments I experienced was when the child I was looking after learned—without me directly teaching him—to say the word "niña" in Spanish. During a family gathering one weekend, he started calling his cousins "niñas," which surprised and amused the whole family. I only used that word occasionally to refer to his older sisters, so it was lovely and funny to see how he had picked up a new word so naturally.
