I have extensive experience in early education as well as primary education. I have worked with Infants and toddlers most closely, as well as 3 year olds and primary school age.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love process based art projects, and witnessing the raw creativity of children. I am a huge book lover and reading to children is a big part of my day (I like to think I'm pretty good at the voices). I love to be outside and seeing all of the fascinating things kids get up to in nature.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, some of the greatest moments of my life have been the moments where I have directly seen the impact I have made on students' lives. The moment when I can tell that I have taught a child something they will never forget, or the moment I know that I have changed the way that a child looks at the world. I have the pleasure of knowing children at the most influential time of their life, and this is something that I don't take lightly.
My experience with special needs children...
I am not experienced in working with children with special needs that require a significant amount of medical involvement, but I do have experience working with nonverbal children. I would be more than willing to work with a family to understand your child's needs. For the past few summers, I've volunteered at Trail West Lodge, a family Young Life camp in Colorado, where I was a Kids Club teacher and got to teach 3-7yo's about Jesus! I worked as a para at a K-6th elementary school for a little over a year, I helped in every grade level. Growing up, my mom, aunt, and grandma have always had their own in home daycares, (and still do!) I've been surrounded by newborns and kids of all ages- my whole life! I adore them.
