My experience with special needs children...
Along with having a nephew on the spectrum, I have had experience with a 2 year old that was non-verbal and presumed to be on the spectrum. I have cared for a teen with down syndrome. Most recently I worked as a behavior therapist for children on the spectrum under BCBA supervision.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I personally think this moment is only funny for the child, but its the moment where you went outside to play for a couple hours before nap time and your both drained from the sun. You walk home and as you're walking home you look down and see the child has fallen asleep so you keep walking. You arrive home and carefully unbuckle them, carefully take off their jacket and shoes, and carefully pick them up to carry them to bed. Only to lay them down and the moment you pull away their eyes pop open. It's funny retelling, but I think the children enjoy it the most. Haha
