More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have about 7 years of childcare experience with children ranging from newborns through high school. I worked in an after-school program with children ages 5–10 and have provided both short- and long-term babysitting for families with children of all ages. I have been with the same family of three children for 5 going on 6 years, growing with their family as their needs have changed. Their two older children are now in high school and college, and I primarily care for their youngest. I also spent 3 months as an au pair for a family in Italy and have traveled internationally with a family I regularly babysit for in my hometown for the past two summers. These experiences have made me adaptable, responsible, and comfortable caring for children in a variety of environments.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing a mix of creative, active, and age-appropriate activities with children! Some of my favorites are painting and other arts and crafts, doing puzzles, playing outside, riding bikes, going to the park, and exploring new activities together. I’m always happy to follow their interests and let them choose what sounds fun, while also encouraging them to try new things!

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure children feel safe, happy, and cared for. I believe it’s important to create an environment where children feel comfortable being themselves, while also providing structure, encouragement, and opportunities to learn and have fun.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with special needs in both educational and childcare settings. In high school, I was a teacher’s assistant in a program supporting students with physical and developmental disabilities. I also nannied for a young girl with a rare disorder, which gave me valuable experience providing attentive, individualized care and adapting to her unique needs.
