I feel the most important part of being a nanny is to keep an open mind. Every child is different and keeping an open mind will help you learn and grow with the child so that you may give the best possible care to them. They need support, love and someone who is willing to go above and beyond for them.

My experience with special needs children...

My younger sister is autistic and needed 24/7 care. I understand the difficulties of being with a child with any form of disability or disorder. I am patient and willing to take the time needed to care for your child to your expectations.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was 16 at the time, babysitting a young girl at the age of 6. Now she has always been a sweet and outgoing child and loved making new friends, even with random strangers in stores. She comes to me one day and tells me she made a new friend and asked if we could go visit her. I was under the impression she made a friend her age, but when we get to her “friends house” it’s the Helena house nursing home. She met a wonderful woman in her late 70s at her school and had a blossoming friendship with this charming women. After that we spent three days a week with Mrs.Martha doing fun activities. I’ve never seen a child love the way she did with Martha. She still visits Martha.
