More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been doing this for about 8-9 years now, nannying for many families with in the area, child care centers, etc and fell in love with opportunity.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outdoors on a great day, this may include going on walks, playing at the park, attending any local classes held at the Library (based on a specific age group). Going to the library in general, and attending any child/kid friendly event being held within the area. Indoor activities consist of reading, playing games, arts and crafts, building forts...etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny... one on one, engaging and interacting with a child. Providing the help and care needed for the family.
My experience with special needs children...
I once was given the opportunity to care for a child who suffered with Cerebral Palsy. The sweetest boy you would ever meet he was 4 and due to his diagnosis along with a few other birth defects (Angel) had the mentality of an infant. In this case we was nonverbal, I was responsible for changing him, dressing him, feeding him, making sure he was comfortable, adjusting him continuously throughout the day and making sure therapy as well as all daily stretches were met! Some days were better than others, and most days were tough but it is by far the most rewarding experiences with a child I had ever came across. That is definitely one little boy I will never forget!
Angel was later adopted by an amazing family!

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment occurred when working for my first job here in Virginia. It was for a family of three, two young girls ages 3-5 at the time. We had become so close. Every morning when I'd show up the girls would always be so excited and happy to see me. After leaving I would get messages from their mother telling me how much they missed me and couldnt wait to see me again the next day. It's so wonderful and reassuring when you can do something you absolutely love and see how much of an impact it creates on other people as well as their children.
