A little bit about me

Hello! I have 15+ years of childcare experience. I started with babysitting, then started daycare work. For the past 3 years, it's been nanny work for 2 wonderful families. Now that all kiddos are in school, I am searching for more work. I am CPR and first aide certified. I believe in a Montessori approach. I'm big on imagination, outdoor activities, reading, art projects, science experiments, and other educational crafts. Part-time positions, or a full time position are welcome. I am available for school pick up, and am well acquainted with the juggle of housework, cooking, and childcare/ entertainment. I provide outings to The Duluth Children's Museum, Aquarium, playgrounds, picnics, and special events. I am a mother to 2 little ones who often come along, during nannying shifts. "For nearly two full years (beginning September 2017) Emilee provided full-time care to our youngest daughter, who is now 27 months old, as well as after-school and summer care for our oldest daughter (6 years). We were incredibly happy with her service and the excellent care she have provided for our girls. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am mama to an infant and a 6 year old . I have worked as a nanny, for multiple families, over the last 14 years. I also have experience in daycare centers, and with special needs children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking children in my care, on outings- hiking at Hartley Nature Center, The Zoo, Duluth Children's Museum, The Aquarium, and settings like that. I have memberships for the Children's Museum, and The Aquarium. For in days, where it's just too cold, or road conditions are too unsafe- activities range with age. We do a lot of baking, homemade playdoh, paint wheels, beading, and other art or science projects. To get out energy on those days, I often find a structured routine to lead, or a game.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, doing your job well, means the world. Making sure you're present and available to the children in your care, helps ensure their needs will all be acknowledged, and met. Respecting their need to get out energy and grow, ensures they will always have safe and creative outlets available. Just like healthy food helps physical growth, fresh air and exploration, assists with healthy mental and emotional growth. I think it's all equally important.

I have experience with children with autism, and other sensory disorders.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have a lot of favorites, but my ultimate favorite year, would have to be when I had 3 infants. I would care one in the Ergo (front facing baby carrier), and one in each arm, and we would tell stories. Our long stroller walks, to go play in a park or on the swings, were equally as precious.
