Hi! I'm Emily and I can't wait to support you and your family. I am an experienced nanny who has serviced both the Chicagoland and Central Wisconsin areas. I am currently located in Central Wisconsin. I have done everything from camp counselor, to direct support for children with autism, to just your everyday nanny for a wonderful family like yours. I have worked with diverse age ranges, including infants all the way through adults. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been working with kids since I was a kid. I started as a casual babysitter. In college I worked at a residential in La Crosse for children with autism and behavioral challenges. I additionally majored in at-risk youth in my undergrad. During summers in college I worked as a camp counselor at a YMCA day camp. Lastly, I worked as a nanny for a family in the Chicagoland area, taking care of 3 children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a kid at heart... I enjoy doing what they enjoy doing! Personally, I gravitate towards creative activities geared towards the child's interest. Paint, clay, crayons, markers, paper... you name it, I have it! I also enjoy spending time outside. I think it's important that kids have time to play, and I enjoy playing with them. Nature walks with tape bracelets? Alien invasion on the playground? The possibilities are endless!

The most important part about being a nanny...

...is engagement! I have a big heart with plenty of room; I want to be involved and invested! I am here to support you in running the most effective household possible, whatever that means to you. I am flexible and dynamic, with lots of great experience; but at the end of the day, what matters most is that I care.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked at a high level residential care center for children with autism and behavioral challenges for approximately 5 years. I worked with children ranging from 4 - 21 with varying needs and abilities. Duties included supporting students in after school activities, such as attending scheduled group activities, eating dinner, bathing, and going to bed. I found that rapport is a huge part of working with children with special needs. I understand that getting to know your child is really the best way to support them; using those interests can promote engagement in day to day activities that present as challenging to your child.
