A little bit about me

Hello! I’m an expecting first-time mom, due December 2026, and I’m looking for a part-time or full-time nannying position beginning in May 2027 after maternity leave. I’m planning to be a stay-at-home mom for the next few years and would love to find a long-term position caring for another child around the same age as mine.

With a background in psychology, creative writing, and education, I bring experience teaching and tutoring children of various ages, including through college. I hold an advanced degree in creative writing and have completed substitute teacher training, as well as CPR and first aid training (needs renewal for certification).

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve worked with children since high school, beginning as a middle school cheerleading assistant coach and volunteer with an elementary after-school program. Since then, I’ve gained experience through babysitting, nannying, tutoring, and working with children from toddlers through teenagers. I also spent two years as a volunteer aide supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I’m now preparing to care for my own child and look forward to bringing that hands-on experience, along with my background in childcare and education, to supporting another family.

I love creating engaging, hands-on activities that help children learn through play and everyday experiences. With babies and toddlers, I’d focus on plenty of outdoor time—exploring nature and wildlife, gardening, going on “I-spy” walks, and finding opportunities to practice age-appropriate skills through play. I also enjoy arts and crafts, library visits, music, and other creative activities that encourage curiosity and independence. My goal is to make everyday moments fun, active, and meaningful while helping children explore the world around them.

The most important part of being a nanny is treating children with genuine respect and recognizing them as people with their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas. I believe in being fully present and engaged—listening to children, taking their interests seriously, and giving them my undivided attention. I also value creating a screen-free environment where children can connect, explore, and engage with the world around them.
