A little bit about me

I am passionate about education and development, health, creativity, and ultimately making a difference in the lives of families and children. I have a bachelors in biomedical science and worked a few different jobs post college, and found myself the wanting to escape the corporate world altogether. Transitioning to nannying has been an amazing and rewarding experience.

From 12, I have babysat and had summer nannying jobs with up to 6 kids at once. I took my first full time position as a nanny 4 years ago. I have worked for 3 families with children 8 weeks old to 4 years old. I have travelled in Europe for 2 months with one family and have worked many vacations that were in the US. I have also been a live in for my most recent family.

I’m a very joyful and loving person, and love, learning, fun, and safety are my priorities! I really put my full heart into the families I work for. Being a primary influencer in the lives of kids is something I take very seriously.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been working with children since I was 12; babysitting the neighbors and working every summer nannying up to 6 kids. I also have spent a lot of time volunteering in my mom’s kindergarten class.

My adult experience has been primarily with toddlers and infants. I love newborn snuggles, “terrible twos”, and all the amazing connections that happen at 3 and 4. I am currently a live in nanny in Chicago for two children ages 1 and 3. I’ve been nannying for 4 years. I have traveled abroad for up to 2 months with children 2 and under and have spent up to 7 days solely taking care of children while parents are out of the country/state.

During college I was a nursing technician on the mother baby unit in a hospital where I cared for all the newborns post delivery. Usually babies were in my care for 3-5 days. Also, I volunteered my time to help new mom's with their babies in their own homes and have volunteered with autistic and special needs children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outside with kids! There is so much to discover and learn. Scavenger hunts, chalk art, park, beach, hikes, sledding, snowman building, and biking/scootering etc. I’m an active nanny!

If we are indoors, arts and crafts are part of the norm or developmental activities for the babies and 1s. Examples: I have taped paper towel holders to the wall for pom poms tracks, removed couch cushions and made forts and floor is lava courses, lined up books on the floor to make a balance beam, painted rocks, made cards for each holiday, and seasonally appropriate crafts. I also love to to read every day, have lots of dance parties/music time, and bake all kinds of things w the kids.

I also enjoy taking them to their extra curricular activities such as gymnastics class, dance class, swimming lessons, and music lessons.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is showing unconditional love and realizing that your example is so important. Their inner voice is shaped by how we speak to them and interact with them. I want kids to grow in self love, confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation. I do this by modeling these things myself. They will do what you do not what you say! I love being a primary influencer in a child’s life, and I take it very seriously.

My experience with special needs children...

I have volunteered with special olympics and with a teen to adult autistic social group.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was when the baby I cared for from 8 weeks old started connecting the dots with language. Helping her learn words was so fun! When she finally associated that Em Em was me, and she started calling me Em Em... That was so special. I loved it!
