A little bit about me

I am recently married 23 year old. I am currently working at SafeHouse of Shelby County however I am originally from the Bahamas and waiting to be approved for permanent residency. I got my bachelors degree in Social Work and am willing to get a CPR certification. I have been babysitting since I was 15 years old and have loved it so much. My husband and I hope to have a large family of our own one day. I have babysat overnight babies as young as a few months old and helped with tutoring the ages 6 & 7. I love to cook and clean and am willing to run errands. I do have my own car which is compact SUV but do not have any booster seats. I would love to help you as you in turn help me. I will be at my job until May 31st however if you need help before then on a regular schedule I would be more than happy to make something work!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician for about 4 months where I practiced cognitive behavioral therapy on children with varying degrees of autism and other behavioral challenges. I have also taught at many vacation bible schools!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outside and active whether that's throwing a ball around or going on a walking trail even looking for different critters! I also have a creative side and love painting, drawing, arts & crafts etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making the kids feel seen and loved not only by me but ensuring they know how much their parents care for them. Often times I have seen kids cry and wail for their parents to come home and ask why they left them and it brings me no greater joy than to be able to comfort them and remind them how precious and loved they are.

My experience with special needs children...

I mentioned in a previous message and have experience with children with autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite memory is a collection of memories rather from different kids that I have cared for. When I see them in passing in public and they run up to me and hug me and tell me all about their day because it shows that they really do enjoy time with me and might even miss me a little when I am not there!
