A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Emma, I’m 21, and I’ve been a certified caregiver/direct support professional for the last 3 years. I started working for my disabled mother 3 years ago, and moved to Portland last summer and started caregiving for special needs/intellectually disabled children between the ages of 6-9. I am CPR/AED/First Aid certified as of a few months ago, and I will be finished with my Oregon Intervention Systems training next weekend! Aside from professional experience, I used to help babysit my ex-partners 6 siblings who were between the ages of 1-14, and sometimes overnight. I’ve always been interested in helping care for children and consider to myself to be very quick to pick up on others’ emotions and try to have empathy for everyone, especially since I grew up with alopecia and adhd and understand what it’s like to be perceived as different by your school peers. I also especially have a heart for LGBT kids/kids who have LGBT parents. I’d love to be able to help wherever I’m able to!
