The most important part about being a nanny...
It can be hard being away from your parents for long periods of time. I find it most important to not only keep them safe and entertained but to make them feel loved at all times.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children with disabilities in my previous jobs as a gymnastics coach and diving instructor. Including Bell's Palsy, epilepsy, Down's Syndrome, mental disabilities, etc. I myself have ADHD and learning disabilities and struggled as a child. Having grown up I have a better understanding of my neurodivergence and how to help others navigate through this process.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I created a homemade "arcade" with lots of different mini games such as bean-bag toss, pin the tail on the donkey, arts & crafts competition, scavenger hunt, obstacle course, etc... After all of the fun was over, I received the biggest hug and was told that this was "the best day of our lives!"
