A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Emma, and I have over five years of full-time nannying experience, along with many years of babysitting that began when I was 11. I’ve cared for children of all ages—from newborns and infants to pre-teens—and truly love supporting kids as they grow, learn, and develop their personalities. My wide range of childcare experience has helped me become a well-rounded, adaptable nanny with many different approaches to supporting children and families.

I also have experience with infants, twins, and nanny shares, as well as household management, including meal prep, organizing spaces, and helping family routines run smoothly.

I’m an enthusiastic, positive person who loves living an active lifestyle. I recently returned from three months in India where I completed my yoga teacher training. I love the outdoors, creativity, and encouraging curiosity and self-expression in the children I care for.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My childcare experience includes over five years of full-time nannying, along with many years of babysitting that began when I was 11. I’ve cared for children of all ages, from newborns and infants to pre-teens, and have experience with twins, nanny shares, and caring for multiple children at once.

I also spent a summer working in a preschool classroom, which gave me experience supporting group routines and early childhood development in a structured setting.

In addition to childcare, I’ve held a household management role where I helped families with meal planning and preparation, organizing household spaces, and keeping daily routines running smoothly. My wide range of experience has helped me become a very adaptable, organized, and intuitive nanny who enjoys supporting both children and the overall flow of family life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love planning activities that encourage creativity, curiosity, and time outdoors. Some of my favorite things to do with children are arts and crafts, nature walks, and outdoor adventures. I enjoy turning simple outings into fun activities, like nature scavenger hunts, playing “I Spy” on walks, or exploring parks and trails.

I also really enjoy creative projects like drawing, painting, and building things together. One of my favorite parts of working with children is watching their imagination come to life and encouraging them to express themselves creatively.

I try to create a balance of active outdoor play and creative indoor activities so children can explore, learn, and have fun in a way that feels natural and engaging.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe one of the most important parts of being a nanny is being a positive role model for the children in my care. A nanny plays a meaningful role in helping children learn about themselves and the world around them. I think it’s important to encourage kids to express themselves freely, build confidence in who they are, and nurture their natural curiosity and creativity.

Children are constantly learning and growing, and being part of that process is something I take seriously. I strive to create an environment where kids feel supported, respected, and excited to explore, ask questions, and try new things. Helping children grow into confident, kind, and curious individuals is one of the most rewarding parts of being a nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

While I don’t currently have direct professional experience caring for children with special needs, I am very open and eager to learn. I approach childcare with patience, compassion, and adaptability, and I would welcome the opportunity to learn from families and professionals in order to best support a child’s individual needs. I’m committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, understood, and encouraged.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have so many favorite moments from nannying, but one that always comes to mind is from a family I worked with in Minnesota. Flo, the four-year-old, would wake up before her sisters (Izzy, 7, and Lou, 1) while I was downstairs getting things ready for the morning. She would tiptoe as quietly as possible down the stairs and hide behind the dining room table. Every morning she would pop out to “scare” me, and every morning I screamed like it was the scariest thing I’d ever experienced.

Afterward she would run over and jump into my arms, and we’d cuddle on the couch and read books together until her sisters woke up. It became our little morning routine, and I went to work every day excited to be “scared” and curious about which stories Flo would choose.

Moments like that remind me that in nannying, it’s often the little routines and small connections that make each day feel so special.
