Hello!
I’m a 26-year-old paraprofessional located in Ferndale, but happy to work anywhere in Whatcom County.

I am a positive, hardworking individual. I am dedicated to the children I work with, my students feel like my kids! I'm a former preschool and toddler teacher, a camp counselor, and currently I work as a one-on-one aide to a high schooler with Autism at SQHS.

I'm looking to find a part time, ideally regular afterschool nannying gig - would be perfect for families looking for a weekly date night (or two!) and weekend care.

I love art, nature, bird watching and traveling.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I'm currently a paraprofessional in the Bellingham School District, working as a one-on-one aide with a student with Autism.

I worked as a nanny for a bit over year with two boys, one from infancy to 14-months, and his older brother, from 18-32 months.

I worked as a Lead Teacher in a early learning center, in the toddler room. Previously I was an assistant teacher in the preschool room.

I’ve worked extensively with 3-4 year olds, special needs students, students with various behavioral needs or social challenges. Most of my experience is with children under than 4.

Beyond that, I have a long history of babysitting, and nannied briefly a pair of 5 and 6 year old girl.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love emergent learning activities - seeing what the children are interested in and building educational moments in everyday activities.

I love doing art and stem activities with children, and love to bring children to nature, or nature to children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’m so excited to try something new. I think it will be so meaningful getting to make connections with children outside of a classroom setting, getting to really know a child and be more involved in supporting their family.

My experience with special needs children...

I currently work alongside special education teachers to provide excellent support to the student I work with, and when I have the opportunity I work with the broader special education program, supporting students of varying ages and abilities.

The preschool I worked at accepted and provided specialized care for children with special needs, so much of my care for special needs children is within a school setting, and helping them reach social-emotional goals.

I had some excellent experience when I was selected to serve as a one-on-one for a 5 year old student with significant ASD.
As a lead teacher, I was responsible for identifying if a student has developmental needs, helping families get connected with resources, and writing up behavioral plans.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I visited my previous nanny family a month after my contract ended, and the younger boy, who had not been using words to communicate when I had left, used my name for the first time. So sweet!
