A little bit about me

Hey! I’m Emma, an artist and writer who is passionate about children’s education and hope to provide additional support to children who need it and help them gain confidence.

I have been a sitter/nanny since 2012 in which I began watching an infant, toddler and 7 year old nearly full time. Not only did I gain a new appreciation for my Mom, but I also found the job to be the most rewarding I’ve ever experienced. I absolutely adore children and how expressive they are. They bring the simplicity and imagination back into life that is frequently lost in the adult world.

I take nannying very seriously and will take thorough precaution to adhere to any guidelines you may set and to enforce rules with the children so they have consistency and structure. I love exploring art with kids and have a variety of supplies that can be used without a big mess.
I will complete any needed housework and cleaning & am actively certified in CPR/AED/First Aid/Lifeguarding through the American Red Cross.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Being a babysitter and nanny for 10 families (full time mostly but some part time) taught me patience and a greater love for being a helping hand. I have experience taking care of kids on the autism spectrum as well a child with severe OCD and anger issues. Every single kid teaches me more than I can say in words; it’s a huge gift that I choose not to take for granted.
I have been a lifeguard for 6 years-mostly in management roles- and was responsible for the safety of many kids and was successful in all my rescues. I taught swim lessons and water safety for school aged children. Through these jobs I found nannying and babysitting opportunities and became the regular sitter for them.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating fun, new games that children enjoy especially when there are multiple kids with conflicting things they want to do. I’ve helped kids create interactive board games, create our own store/home/world, and combine both arts & crafts and sports/the outdoors.
