More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Relevant experience where I have cared for and supported children includes working for two years at Primrose Preschool, where I cared for children ages 2 months to 6 years old and served as a lead teacher in a classroom of up to 10 students. I have many years of babysitting experience with children up to age 13. I have taught dance at a local studio, helping children build confidence and teamwork skills. Through Best Buddies at Minnetonka High School, I supported students of varying abilities, and I volunteered in elementary classrooms within the Minnetonka School District. I also have 30 hours of classroom teaching experience in a 6th-grade English class, where I assisted with instruction, classroom management, and student support.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include teaching foundational skills through play, creativity, and hands-on art activities. I love incorporating learning naturally, whether that’s practicing early literacy through storytelling, building math skills with games, or encouraging problem-solving during imaginative play. I enjoy going to the park, exploring nature, and giving kids opportunities to move, observe, and ask questions about the world around them. Reading together, dancing, and having music breaks are some of my favorite ways to connect and build joy. Most of all, I love tapping into whatever their little hearts find captivating and using those interests to help them learn, grow, and feel confident.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny, to me, is creating a space where children feel completely safe, deeply valued, and genuinely loved. It’s about more than supervision; it’s about building trust, providing consistency, and being a steady, positive presence in their lives. I believe children thrive when they feel secure and understood, and I take seriously the responsibility of caring for not just their physical needs, but their emotional and developmental ones as well. Being someone a child can rely on, learn from, laugh with, and feel comforted by is truly the heart of what being a nanny means to me.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with children with special needs has primarily come through my involvement in Best Buddies at Minnetonka High School, where I built friendships with students of varying abilities, including those with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and other developmental differences. These experiences were incredibly meaningful to me and are a big part of why I chose to minor in Special Education in college.
While I am currently studying Special Education, I do not yet have formal medical or specialized clinical training. Because of that, I want to be honest and transparent that I may not be the best fit for a medically complex child or a child with more intensive needs at this time. However, I am patient, compassionate, eager to learn, and committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for every child I work with.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was babysitting a sweet 3-year-old girl who asked me why I smile and laugh so much. She told me she thought I must be a princess and that I was always happy because of that. I had the opportunity to tell her that the real reason I smile so much is because I get to see her joy and experience the world through her eyes. That perspective, watching children discover, imagine, and feel so freely, is what truly makes me happy.
Another moment that melted my heart was at preschool when a little boy came in having a hard morning and was in the middle of a tantrum. As soon as he saw me, he looked at his dad and said, “It’s okay, Dadda. Mrs. Emmerson will make today better. I love her.” Knowing that a child feels safe, comforted, and loved in my presence is the greatest privilege.

Babysitter Available in Minnetonka, MN: Leanne A.
As an experienced childcare worker with the public-school systems, I am familiar with school aged children, mostly. I have also managed a few family households for various reasons. One family had lost their mother to cancer. I helped with many of the homes management in a very difficult time. It was rewarding to be there in they need.
I have also worked with a couple who were both physicians. Their three children went to different schools. I used their vehicle to pick them up and drive them to various activities.
My public-school aftercare experience gave me great joy working with the children. I am particularly fond of children's picture books. I enjoy reading them with added drama to make them quite exciting!
I am a lap swimmer; I love to cook and bake and once had my own baking business. I trained as a professional seamstress, dress designer and fashion model. I worked in those fields for years. I also have experience in catering parties!
I would feel honored to meet your family!
