A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Erica! I have a degree from Texas Tech University in Human Development and Family Sciences. I am currently working full time with adults with special needs but am looking for a career change! I have been babysitting since I was 16 and I love being around kids! I worked as a part time nanny in college and loved it. In this job, I helped meal prep, did some light housework, helped care for animals, and planned activities for us to do. I have also worked in Kid’s ministry and have experience lesson planning. I have cared for a variety of ages, from newborns to 12-year-olds. I love hanging out with the littles, I am comfortable taking care of newborns, and I love playing outside and doing crafts with kiddos! I am happy to help with light cleaning, meal prepping, traveling, taking care of pets, and helping with homework. I have a huge passion for working with both children and people with special needs and would love to use this with my future nanny family!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a Kids Ministry intern for a year when I was in college. In this position I helped teach Sunday School classes, organized lesson plans, facilitated volunteers, and organized summer camps.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts with kids! I enjoy planning developmentally appropriate crafts and exploring their creativity. I also love playing outside with them. Going to the park, going swimming, or just tossing a ball outside are all activities that I love to do with kids!

My experience with special needs children...

I currently work full-time at a day program for adults with special needs. I work with a variety of diagnoses and abilities in this job. In college, I volunteered with an organization that put on summer camps for kids with special needs. At these camps, I helped facilitate groups and worked with a variety of kids.
