A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Erika!

I have years of experience working with children. I've babysat the kids of friends and seasonally teach children and teenagers in Mexico.

I adapt to new scenarios pretty quick! Talking to kids is no problem for me either. Since I'm 20 I tend to keep up with the times. I would be more than happy to do some housework as well while taking care of your kids!

I'm no stranger to customer service too. I was at Caputo's Fresh Market for about year and still worked through the Pandemic as an essential worker! Don't worry though! I am fully vaccinated and have never caught Covid-19.

Apart from being dedicated to working hard, I am also educated! I am currently here in Illinois for the summer. I'm getting my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. I absolutely promise to keep your family safe as well. I have been a trained martial artist and self-defense for years!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a teacher in Mexico seasonally for a few years. I mainly taught them English but I’ve taught Science and Math classes as well! Helping with homework will be absolutely no problem for me! I have also worked as a volunteer camp counselor for about seven years! There’s plenty of fun activities I can come up with!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Outdoors I have a plethora of activities I would be willing to do! I used to play hockey, soccer, football, and basketball myself! But I can come up with fun outdoor games! Just give me tools and I’ll create anything. Indoors I can also play house-safe games with your kids. I studied acting for a while so if your child wants me to be a magical hippogriff for them, sure can do, haha! As a side hustle I work as a comic artist so I absolutely will enjoy painting or drawing with your kids! I love to encourage imagination.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Not only do I find contributing to the young of the world very invigorating, but I absolutely love to mess around and have fun! It's all for the kid in the end, though. I can understand if families are going through tough times. I'm here to help.

My experience with special needs children...

In regards to my special needs experience, my cousin is on the autism spectrum and I have had to take care of her a few times during family gatherings. I have also had students that were on the spectrum or had learning disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I suppose my favorite nanny moment was when the kid told me how much I meant to them. They had spent such a good time and learned so much, it turned out to be a positive experience for them. It's an absolute honor to be a role model for children and give them the best memories of their lives. I understand what bad memories can do to a kid, so I made a promise to make sure any kid in my care would having nothing but the happiest moments!
