My experience with special needs children...
I nannied for a family for about two years, caring for a child who was both autistic and blind. My responsibilities included diaper changes, administering medications, assisting with feeding at each meal, and accompanying the child to doctor’s appointments. I also handled transportation to and from the school bus, read with them after school, and engaged in daily music therapy sessions. Additionally, I was trained to safely manage restraint when necessary to protect them from self-harm. This experience taught me valuable skills in providing compassionate and attentive care tailored to individual needs.

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was when I cared for a little girl who had a school assignment to create a book about the things that were most important to her.
