More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a party princess playing characters from all over the Disney canon. I sang, acted, played games, engaged with and brought the magic of Disney to life for children all across the Chicago and Cincinnati area. In addition I was given the responsibility to train oncoming employees to the job. I expertly implemented my time management skills managing multiple tasks at once while entertaining on average 10-20 children in character. I demonstrated over the top commitment to this role commuting a 3 hour drive round trip for parties and traveling to the main office. Most significantly, I actively had to think on my feet all of the time and constantly be flexible, a skill that has helped me tremendously to become a better worker, communicator, and person.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I can do just about any activities with kids! I can play games, read books, do arts and crafts, ect. I pride myself on being able to keep kids engaged and helping kids get creative!

The most important part about being a nanny is fostering an environment of support, kindness, and growth. I pride myself in being able to help kids express themselves creatively and take so much joy in helping them explore and learn about the world around them!

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with many children on the autism spectrum and many of whom were nonverbal. I've babysat children on the spectrum. Further, during my time as a performer for children's parties I worked with many terminally ill children and children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

During my time as a character performer at Characters.io, I had the opportunity to play Wonder Woman for a school track and field event. I played games, ran races, and did "super hero training" with hundreds of kids. It was incredibly rewarding to see how engaged and excited the kids were because one of their favorite super heroes was there to cheer them on. However, what sticks out to me the most is a little girl who gave me a drawing of herself and Wonder Woman and told me how she too wanted to be a super hero when she grew up. This experience taught me just how vital support, creativity, and engagement are when working with kids; a perspective I strive to continuing incorporating in my current work.
