More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Icurrently work as a lead teacher in a daycare classroom with one year olds. I have hands on experience caring for multiple young children at once including feeding, diapering, naps, activities, cleaning, classroom routines and keeping children safe. I am also CPR certified and am currently taking college classes for Early Childhood Education. I have experience working with children from infants through early elementary ages and genuinely enjoy helping children learn and grow.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing fun, hands on activities with children like simple experiments, crafts, sensory play, games and lots of imaginative play. I also enjoy getting outside to play, going to parks, taking walks and exploring. If parents are comfortable with it, I’d also love taking children on occasional outings like going to the movies, library or other fun kid friendly places. Most importantly, I love being able to have fun with the kids and make sure they feel happy, safe and engaged!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part to me about being a nanny is making sure the child always feels safe, loved, cared for, and comfortable. I also want to be someone the parents can trust and rely on, while helping make their day-to-day life a little easier. I want the child to have fun, learn, and feel cared for while giving the parents peace of mind knowing their child is in good hands.
My experience with special needs children...
I have personal experience caring for a family member with special needs, and I have learned how important patience, understanding and calm communication are. I feel very comfortable taking the time to understand a child’s individual needs, communicating with them calmly and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and supported.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite memories from working in daycare was planning a big water day for my class. I bought a bunch of fun things for the kids to play with, but somehow I ended up being the main attraction! The kids had so much fun pushing me into the water, getting me completely wet and muddy, and laughing the whole time. I was definitely not expecting to get as soaked and messy as they did, but it ended up being such a fun and sweet memory. Seeing how excited and happy they were made all the mess completely worth it!
