A little bit about me

I have lived my whole life is the same small town, and I believe that I have reached a point in my life that I possess enough experience to start my next chapter. I currently work as a Life Skills Coach at a local high school with multiple special needs students who have responded very positive to my presence (higher test scores, improved attitude control, happier demeanor in the classroom, etc...) I spent a majority of my time in high school babysitting children of all ages, and covering all duties including; but not limited to, transportation, meal preparation, educating, special needs, and housekeeping. At the end of my senior year, I moved into my own apartment where I was watch 3-4 children throughout the work week for parents living in the apartment complex, or ones who had previously met me. My references include people who are very successful and prestigious. They would give an excellent review of my professionalism, willingness to learn, and my ability to work with children.

"I met Evan when he moved in next to me. On our first encounter, he was bringing me up some food he had cooked to introduce himself (something I had not seen anyone do except for on TV.) At that time, I was dealing with some issues at home and really needed someone who could watch my 3 year old son at various times. He was practically on-call due to him living underneath me and the welcoming personality he had. He was an incredible influence on my son, to the point where he wanted to stay with Evan instead of coming home with Mama. I was very lucky to have someone like Evan to help me out and build a friendship with. The most important part about being a nanny...

I took care of a child who was problematic when he was with me and while he was with only his mother. He would always listen to my directions but he never quite bonded with me the way the others would. His mother was offered a job out-of-state and was required to relocate. When his mother picked him up on my final day with him, she had decided on telling him that he would no longer be seeing me. I was expecting him to say “Goodbye,” and move in with his day. Instead, he began tearing up and gave me a BIG OL’ hug. Although I was sad that he was leaving, it touched my heart that I was able to affect a child’s emotions so much. It was a much-needed reassurance of my performance in this field.
