I have worked at Kamaaina kids day care for about 2 years. Here I have cared for children as young as 6 weeks and up.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing indoor activities such as puzzles, coloring, anything that stimulates creativity with children. As well as outdoor activities such as going to the playground or something as simple as going for a walk to help get the body moving in some natural sunlight.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Although I feel being a nanny you need to be very well rounded, a few of the most important aspects are making sure your children are safe and feel heard. There are to many nannys that just go through the motions of caring for your child by just making sure they are fed and don't get hurt. Watching children is much more than that, children need to be cared for emotionally/ mentally as well as protected (safety).
My experience with special needs children...
I do have experience with my special needs Aunty who is older than me, though I do not have any experience with special needs children just yet.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It is so hard to choose just one moment but one of my favorite moments as a nanny was when one of my toddlers tripped while playing outside and ran to me as soon as it happened. In that moment I knew this baby ran to me because he felt safe with me and knew he could come to be to care for him when hurt or at a time of need.
