Hello! I'm a current undergraduate at the University of Akron with around 5 years of childcare experience! I worked at a childcare facility for around 3 years as a teacher and then moved on to become a swim instructor for kids ages 1-12! I'm especially good with kids who have separation or generalized anxieties, and neurodivergent or disabled kiddos. I am currently taking a semester off of my classes to become more financially stable! I am willing to cook and do house work as well! I hope I can bring a smile to you and your child!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for around 3 years as a teacher at a childcare facility for kids ages 4-7 and 8-12. I was responsible for around 10-20 kids at a time for a two hour long period, mainly helping with tutoring and giving specialized lessons based on the classes I was teaching! After this, I went on to work for a swim school as an instructor and receptionist! As an instructor I would give classes to kids ages 1-12 at a 4:1 ratio per class. Many of these kiddos had severe separation anxiety that we would work through on the weekly basis when I saw them.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love getting kids up and active and will create games with kids or even just walk around the block to get them up and moving! I also love to get creative muscles flowing and will do any sort of crafts or projects needed! I enjoy letting kids help me cook as well, getting them to appreciate the food they're given and discover their likes and dislikes!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I focus on the connections I can make with any kiddo. Children's minds are so special and they see the world with so much joy and energy that I can't help but love! Making sure a child is comfortable and in a healthy, safe environment where they can learn and grow into their own is just so important, and getting to watch them flourish and shape themselves is so rewarding!

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with many children on the autism spectrum, ranging from kids who are non-verbal to kids who are more high functioning. The range there is very high and each child is different! I'm also good with kids who have ADHD and have worked with a range of children who just need a little extra help to kids who are absolutely bouncing all over the place! I have also taught kiddos who have down syndrome in a few differing experiences.
