A little bit about me

Hello
My name is Fredia Sheffield and I am interested in possible part time day/evening/night nannying 2 to 3 days per week.
I have been working in the childcare field for over twenty years. My journey began, after the birth of my daughter, in 2002, as an in home daycare provider. I cared for children in my home ages 6wks and up. I loved it so much that I decided this was the only type of work I wanted to do.
I also enjoy teaching and nurturing small children and I know that this is my calling from God.
I have also taught in two Montessori schools, I’m CPR/First Aid certified, and I also take continuing education courses through Bright From The Start each year.

If you feel I could possibly be a great fit for your family, please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.
*BTW, I have a cat phobia….sorry

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Fredia Sheffield

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I owned and operated a state regulated home daycare from [phone number hidden].
Caring for children ages 6wks-4 years old.

I worked as an assistant teacher at Oak Grove Montessori School from [phone number hidden].
I worked in the infant, toddler and primary classes. These ages were 6wks-6 years old.

I was an assistant teacher then later a lead teacher at CHI Montessori School working toddlers and preschoolers.

I am looking forward to connecting with families here on Nanny Lane and possibly work for you in the very near future.

Thank you for taking the time to read through my profile.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy teaching all subjects, circle time, working individually with children on specific tasks he/she is trying to master, doing group lessons, going on hikes, doing arts and crafts, music time, running and playing with them during recess, reading to them, sitting and eating with them during lunch helping the restless ones relax and fall asleep at nap time by rubbing or patting their backs or holding them for a bit and my favorite thing of all is getting hugs from them even after I've had to redirect them from not so great choices or behavior. 🥰

The most important part about being a nanny...

I get such a great feeling when a child has mastered a lesson or task he/she has been struggling with.
I love bonding with the children and the parents/ family as well.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with autistic children and through that I've learned a whole new way of being patient and I find myself getting attached to/bonding with those children a lot quicker than usual

The most important part about being a nanny...

Everyday is a great memorable day when I'm with the kiddos. 💕
It's not like work for me. I enjoy what I do and know that working with children is my calling.
I pray I never have to go back to corporate America.

I am an engaging nanny who loves children and I have a creative imagination which makes my job fun. I am an easy going individual. I have learned a lot about kids as I have worked for a year as a kindergarten assistant teacher dealing with a large number of kids at once. Besides my nanny job I have also been an Au pair (live-in) for 7 months taking care of 3 host kids. My highlighted experiences being another live-in opportunity with 3 baby girls, live in sitter for a 11-month-old. I have handled 4 children at once for a few months, then I went on to take care of twins who were 4 months when I started with them. For 7 months I have been taking care of 1 baby boy who was only 4 months when we started. After the family moved, my new family has been with a 2 year old boy who wears hearing aids, born completely deaf. He is a supper star, he speaks so well more then his peers now a year later. With his sister recently born little Jack has started school. Now I am seeking a new adventure.
