More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

as a Registered Behavior Technician for two years at an ABA clinic for Key Autism Services - NPC. I worked with 8 different children over the course of my employment there, providing care for kiddos whose behaviors ranged from handbiting to aggression and learning the appropriate responses to keep myself and the children safe and sound.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I greatly enjoy coming up with craft activities for kids, from painting, to chalk and paper mache. Listening to music and playing instruments with them is another common activity I use at work, as well as dance videos and social motor activities like obstacle courses, dance videos, and red light, green light.

My experience with special needs children...

As previously mention my professional experience working with children has solely been in working with children who have an Autism diagnosis. I’ve passed the competency exam to practice as a registered behavior technician twice and taken several safety care classes to best provide care for clients with behavior implementation plans for aggressive behaviors.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As much fun as I have running around with the kiddos, playing tag or hide and seek in our gym space at my job, one incredibly precious moment came the other day when one of the 5 year old boys I work with said so calm and clearly that he just wanted to sit down and watch the clouds for a minute. Getting to view the world again through the eyes of such childlike wonder makes me feel so positive that I’m right where I need to be.
