Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading with children of all ages, and I never tire of doing voices or reading the same book for the 18th time. Drawing and painting are important activities for the development of fine motor skills, observational details, imagination, patience, and sharing, so I try making time to do this daily depending on the age of the child.
Taking walks, playing outside or at the park when weather allows is always great fun. If the weather isn't on our side, then dance parties, puzzles, baking, and games of dress-up are all excellent days to play the day away while learning so much about the world.

My experience with special needs children...
All children deserve to have adults in their lives that care about them as people, who treat them with kindly words and respect their dignity with developmentally appropriate guidance as they learn about our world. I have had the pleasure of working with some children who have sensory issues or mild developmental delays. I have also worked with children who have suffered levels of familial and personal trauma due to difficult situations like homelessness.
