More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I grew up in large family of 10 with four younger siblings, and now have 7 nieces and nephews whom I love more than anything! Needless to say, I have been around children for a very long time, and love caring for and just having a fun time with them dearly. I have been babysitting and nannying for several families consistently for about 4 years now, ranging from 2 kids to 7. In addition, for the past two years I have been a teacher/assistant teacher of kindergarten and elementary music, and preschool at a one-day a week homeschool co-operative.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing games, singing songs, reading books, and doing crafts, among some things to do inside. I also love being outside and exploring nature with the kids, taking walks, playing games, and whatever else we can come up with! Going on “adventures” with the kids are some of my favorite things to do, whether it’s exploring a new part of nature, a park, or a make-believe place in the living room, it is so fun! I am all for letting kids learn to use their imagination and do explorative play, with me just keeping on eye on them, and letting them “lead the show”.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure that the kids feel happy, safe, and secure. I know that it can be very difficult for children to be away from their parents for extended amounts of time, and so I intend to help them feel as good and secure as possible while I am with them. I want to be understanding with them so we can build a trusting and secure relationship, and they feel comfortable with me.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have any experience caring for special needs kids, but I am very open it!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Oh, it’s hard to pick!! Some of my favorite memories I have had with one particular nanny family I used to have, was that we would make up short stories, plays, and silly little re-enactments, and just laugh at how funny they were!
