I volunteered in all of my children’s classrooms. I’ve taken children to different after school classes and then discussed what they learned that day. Gone to their sporting events snd cheered them on. Talked about wins and losses and how they feel.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Take walks and play outside while weather permits. I enjoy teaching with learning toys They may be a bit young for some of my trusty craftsmaking but i can look and find games and crafts that are age appropriate . Reading is a big thing i find, then talk about what the story taught us. Little minds are so inquisitive and i get so happy to see how excited they get when learning something new.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being with the children on their level and listening to what they have to say. Their minds are so fun to watch develop snd if i can guide them to learn something new its a definite plus. For me.
My experience with special needs children...
I cared for one boy who was on the Autism spectrum for 8 years. That was a life changing experience for us both. I also cared for 3 different children with genetic disorders.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Was when my cat died and my Autistic boy realized i was very sad and he hugged me and said he was sorry my cat died and sorry that i was sad! Monumental for him to experience these emotions and to expressing it in the way he did.
