Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Previous I was a camp counselor at Deer Mountain Day Camp and work with children 2-3 and 6 years old. After that I began babysitting for people on my community and had the opportunity to babysit children anywhere between 9 months and 12 years old. For the past two years I have been working as a Lead Teacher in a science based afterschool program in Brooklyn, NY. Additionally, I’m entering my finale semester of my undergraduate school majoring in Childhood Education grades 1-6 with a psychology minor and also in a 5 year program beginning my Masters degree in Special Education.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy crafts such a paper portraits, felt banners, friendship brackets. For older kids I have taught how to sew and crochet. I also love bringing the kids outside whether it be to the park or a local museum I feel it’s enriching and fun!
My experience with special needs children...
As part of my degree I have worked personally with students with both Autism and Intellectual Disabilities in the classroom and have helped with any additional medical needs they required.
