My name is Grace and I am currently a graduate student at Minnesota State University, Mankato, working on my Professional School Counseling degree! I graduated from Iowa State University in May, 2019, with a bachelor's degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services. I am originally from Altoona, Iowa (right outside of Des Moines, Iowa) and loving the Mankato area. I enjoy spending time with my friends, relaxing, cooking, reading, getting creative, and spending time with my family when possible.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 2 years of experience working with elementary age children in an after school program, 1 and a half years of experience in a childcare center with children ages 6 months to 5 years old, and 2 years experience working with children with autism. I served as a mentor to a 6th grade girl for two semesters. I have experience in facilitating a grief and loss support group for children between third and fifth grade. I served as a summer reading tutor this previous summer for a third grade boy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading with children (whether they are reading or me), doing crafts or other fun creative activities, playing games or with toys, and just hearing what children have to say. When it comes to outside activities, I enjoy just about anything. Playing in the snow, going on bike rides or walks, going to the park, playing with chalk, just about anything to be in the fresh air!
