More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I had an internship with Child Protective Services in Pierre, SD last summer. I experienced things there that I never thought I would have to with kids and their families. But the most important thing to me was making sure they felt loved and cared for.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some things I love are: going on mini road trips, watching movies or shows, dress up, along with many other things! Going to parks is another thing I enjoy doing with kids.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part to me about nannying is being there for the family and children. Such as being attentive to both parents and children, and providing support where it is needed. Being adaptive is another important thing, life and schedules are constantly changing, I get that. And most of all I want to make sure both the parents and kids know that I care for each of them and that they are not just a source of income to me.
My experience with special needs children...
One of the children I used to take care of has Retts which is a rare form of Autism in girls. She is nonverbal and does not have much control of her limbs/body and bowl/urine. She is now 7 and in pull ups, so often times I have to change her but I also work with the parents with getting her to use the toilet more. Some days it is quite a challenge when she has less control than usual. But I love spending time with her.

That's hard to say, there are so many of them! But a common occurrence is the greetings you get when the kids first see you.
