More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been a volunteer with my church for 5 years now in the children's ministry. I was a nanny for two five-year old twins in the summers throughout high school. I was also an after school sitter/nanny for a kindergartner for 2 years as well. Beyond that, I babysit almost every weekend while in college and I continue to volunteer at my church. I have experience with every age group besides high school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
It depend specifically on the child and age range, but toys and imaginative play is always something I like to do with toddlers and elementary students. I love to read and reading books has always been something I've liked to do with the kids in my care as well. I like being outside which is great for every age, I am very active, so going on walks and bike rides is something I enjoy doing as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
As a nanny it is important to just simply understand the child. Every child is different, and recognizing who they are, how they communicate, and how to have fun and stay safe with them individually is the most important part of the job.
My experience with special needs children...
I have only cared for special needs children in a classroom setting. Going on field trips, playing games, and just talking with them. I have had several children at the church that I volunteer at that have disabilities and I have done a great job caring for them and catering to their needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While I was nannying over the summer, I had taken the kids to the free movies that they had once a week at the local movie theater. We would get popcorn, bring blankets and just watch the movie. It became our favorite day of the week, and those are memories I won't forget and that I hope they dont forget either.
