A little bit about me

Hi there! I am an experienced childcare provider here in La Crosse. In addition to my other listed experience, I have a large family, so I've grown up caring for younger siblings and nieces/nephews! I'll be starting my fourth year at UWL to attain my Elementary, Middle, and Special Education degrees.

I love anything outdoors, reading, crafting, and long walks/hiking. I pride myself in creating an easy-going, interactive, and engaging environment for the children to feel comfortable. I strive to be active and outside as much as possible when caring for children; I believe mother nature is the greatest teacher! I am very accommodating and flexible, and would be sure to enforce the same boundaries you have with your child as necessary. I believe it is important to adhere to your child's personal boundaries, as well as yours as the parent, to create a vital connection and mutual respect.

My past experiences include an afterschool Elementary and Middle School tutor, Lead Summer School Teacher for both Elementary and Middle School, Daycare Teacher for ages 0-4, and a Day-Camp Counselor for ages 4-8.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I strive to be as outdoor-orientated as possible. Whether this be going on walks, playing in the yard or going to the park, water play, hiking, visiting the natural marsh lands, etc.

If necessary to be inside, I would be sure to provide puzzles, board games, crafting supplies, sensory bins, painting/coloring/water-coloring, Play-Doh and engage in imaginary/creative play, baking sweet treats, or any other options the children or your family suggest!

All of these options would be tailored to the age and abilities of your child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing a safe, fun, comfortable environment where your children can let themselves learn and grow naturally! Understanding that all children are different, and that flexibility is an absolute must. Allowing your children the space to be as creative, playful, and comfortable as possible is always my goal!

My experience with special needs children...

With being a pre-service Special Education teacher, I have had experience providing services to special needs students within a school setting. I have worked with students with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, behavioral and physical disabilities.
